You are on the go, you got up late and you need to leave the house in 20 minutes.
You get dressed and you get out the house as quickly as you can and you do not stop for breakfast.
But not to worry, you will get a bagel and some coffee that will take you through lunch Sounds familiar, you never have time for breakfast.
But you should, you really should if you are planning to lose some of that extra pounds that you have been carrying around.
Why is breakfast so important you ask? Well, lets get to answering your question.
After you have had a long night of fasting because that is what you were doing while you slept, whether you realize it or not.
Your blood sugar level or your glucose level was low during your down time, if you do not eat breakfast and break the fast then you are telling your body that it still needs to remain in that hibernation stage.
At this hibernation stages your body is only burning a minimal amount of calories.
Your body now needs food to get that metabolism up and running, if there is no food then the metabolism cannot do its job effectively.
So now you see why you need to eat breakfast and how eating breakfast helps to lose weight.
The sad truth is that 95 percent of all overweight people do not eat breakfast.
Studies have revealed that just by eating breakfast, you will not only lose the weight but you will be able to keep it off.
And eating breakfast will give you the energy to keep to your diet without cheating.
Once you have eaten a healthy breakfast (because a cup of coffee and donuts are not a breakfast, least of all healthy) this will stabilize your blood sugar which will stop you from craving all those snacks that you need before lunch.
Even though you have never been one that was big on breakfast, you now will have to change your eating habits.
You will have to adopt a good healthy eating habit and start eating breakfast.
You do not have to start big, just start by making baby eating steps.
Try small meals or you can even try some of those meal replacements that are on the market.
And as you get more comfortable with eating in the morning then you can start getting creative with your meal.
You always want to ensure that your meal consists of protein, carbohydrates and some small amount of good fat.
Do not get discouraged into thinking that you will have to get up an extra 30 minutes to an hour just to get breakfast ready.
All you need is about 10 minutes in the mornings.
One simple way to ensure you have breakfast is to plan what you will eat for breakfast the night before that way you will not get up in the morning wondering what you will have for breakfast that day.
