This is the fourth in a series of five articles sharing everything I have learned about starting your own profitable internet business.
In the first article I discussed how to begin the process of deciding what to focus on.
In the second article I helped you narrow down your search for a viable business and how to begin to design your search engine friendly website.
In part three I went over what and how to sell.
In this installment, I am going to explain the different options for actually getting your business up and running.
If you follow through with the information contained in this article, you will have an operating internet business within twenty four hours.
I am also going to talk a little about list building.
You have two basic options for building a website.
You can pay someone to build a website for you or you can build it yourself.
It is very easy to find a professional website builder by doing a search or using a site like Guru.
Since we are building a business on a budget, I want to focus on the less expensive route of building your own site.
I started building my own sites because I felt that I had much more control and because I could constantly make changes and test different designs and ideas.
It is much easier than you would think.
The best way to do it is to jump in.
You can start with a free website.
If you do a search for free websites, you will find an unlimited number of options.
This is a great way to get your feet wet and try different types of design software.
It will also get your business up and running in no time.
Over the long term, you will want to go in a different direction.
You will want to purchase your own domain name that will tell people something about your business.
This will help you with the search engines.
Domain names can normally be purchase for under twenty dollars.
You will then need a hosting account which will be fifteen dollars per month or less, depending on who you use.
Now that you are open for business, you want to start adding relevant content.
Since you have chosen a field that you are knowledgeable about, you want as much of the content as possible to be original.
You should also go to article marketing sites and find articles you can download and add to your site.
You want to be continually adding content so that the search engines will find you.
You should also publish articles you have written and provide a link back to your site.
Search engines love inbound links.
Always remember the purpose of your site.
The purpose is to provide the solution to someone's problem.
You want people to come to your site to purchase a product or information.
You should be subtle about it but you should never forget it.
