How to Teleconference Callers on a Polycom SoundStation
- 1). Make sure the telephony infrastructure is configured to hold multiple participant teleconferences. Contact your telephone service provider and Polycom to arrange this.
- 2). Be sure that all connections to the SoundStation are properly positioned. Make sure the phone jack has clicked into the port on the wall. Be sure all other connections are snug. Center the SoundStation in the middle of the conferencing table. If extension microphones are used, be sure they are properly connected to the phone and located apart from each other.
- 3). Press the "Phone" button to get a dial tone. Use the numeric keypad to dial the number of a participant. Once connected, press the "Conf" button to add additional participants. Repeat this process until all sites are connected.
- 4). Use proper teleconference etiquette. Be sure to close the door and have the phone away from noises such as fans, other phones or people. When not talking, use the mute button. While the SoundStation is unmuted, do not ruffle papers, tap your fingers or put your hands on the microphones because it will cause a disturbing sound. Call in on time and try not to talk over other speakers. Press the "Phone" button to end the call.
