Design House Party Invitations
- Of course you can make an invitation out of a piece of paper, but consider using a computer. Check what programs your computer already has; most computers come with some sort of program that can make greeting cards. If you don't have a program, check out a few websites (see "References" below) to find something that suits your needs.
And if you don't feel comfortable with the computer, you can always resort to construction paper and colored pencils for a truly hand-made, homemade invitation. - Many people promote their party through online websites such as Facebook and Myspace, which have calendars listing parties. If you don't want to do that, be creative. Make your own web page or blog post with some really cool Flash graphics or make a design with Photoshop and link to it from you Facebook status or Twitter update. Send a 30-second cartoon about your house party to your friends.
- If you have a camcorder or web cam, you can make a really creative party invitation. Film yourself creatively reading the details of your party into the camera. If you're throwing a themed party, play the part, in costume. If you want to get really creative, get a few friends, write a short script, and act out a scene that includes the details of your party. When you're done, you can burn copies to a DVD and hand them out to your invitees, or you can send the video through the Internet. Try uploading it to YouTube and sending a link to all your friends.
Use your cell phone to make a quick video and send it to your friends as a message. Check to make sure all of your friends are able to receive the video.
