Cure Your Gout Fast
Curing Your Gout Fast is actually a problem on two counts - Firstly there is no medical Cure as such, and secondly the disease can be radically helped by a change in diet.
Gout is caused by a buildup of purines which are found in many rich and sometimes unexpected foods and drinks.
Who would have thought for instance that a diet rich in Seafood and Iced tea would increase your chances of getting gout? Yet much seafood contains purines (especially Shellfish) Shellfish can and will trigger off a reaction from your body.
Your body has a protective reaction to shellfish (and many other foods) and this is to pump Uric Acid into your bloodstream.
Although this does cut down the purines and protect you from them, there is an unpleasant side-effect.
Excess Uric acid has nowhere to go and it builds up in your joints, particularly in load-bearing joints like the big toe and elbow (both common places where Gout develops).
The result is that the Uric Acid becomes crystals and these harden and form clumps that irritate the joint from within.
Your body reacts by trying to mend the joint itself and it heats up and swells.
You can help by avoiding purine-rich foods and drinks.
This means that the production of uric acid lessens and so do the crystals within the joints.
I have gout and this was triggered by a break in my big toe following a fall in the Lake District.
My big toe swelled to 3 times its usual size and driving became difficult.
My doctor prescribed Allopurinol which helped to a degree but what seriously lessened my gout symptoms was when I discovered how a change in diet affected the gouty toe.
Mt toe is nearly back to a normal size now and I have not had a gout attack for over two years.
