If you are a person who has no problem in getting motivated to exercise, then this article is not for you...
Find yourself a suitable article whilst the honest readers continue...
Let me tell you about this little device that really helps in motivating you to exercise and whats more to actually enjoy it.
Allow me to introduce...
The Pedometer.
Did you say...
enjoy it?
You mean, enjoy exercising? Must be a mistake? Actually no, but first you need to read a little further.
1.
Okay, what is a pedometer?
It's a small, compact gadget that measures the number of steps you take.
2.
Hmmm, interesting, but how does it actually work?
Simply put, each time your foot makes contact with the ground a small built in pendulum registers that as one step.
3.
And is it expensive?
In actual fact pedometers are often given away for free to encourage people to exercise more often, so see if there is perhaps a campaign near you, where you could get one for free.
If not, you could buy a pedometer for about twenty bucks with all the necessary features.
4.
Give me more detail on what it actually does?
Well, it counts the steps taken, how many calories you are burning, what speed you have been walking, as well as how long your routine has taken.
Naturally you can get more expensive models that can include any or all of the following features
  • - soothing voice that tells you how many steps you've taken (swears at you if you slow down...
    Only kidding)
  • - measure your pulse
  • - built in stopwatch
  • - an ultra light headset for listening to your favorite station while walking
  • - a light so you can read the pedometer in the dark
5.
How difficult is it to set up?
Its quite simple really, you enter your height, weight and average stride length.
(To do this you just walk ten meters, count how many steps it takes you to cover this distance and divide it by the distance you covered i.
e.
10 meters), clip it to your belt and you're good to go 6.
When should I take readings?
Imagine for a minute how motivating it is to read the facts from your pedometer telling you that you have covered so many miles burned so many calories and how many steps you have taken.
7.
And that motivates me...
How?
If you are one of those people who need to be threatened with dire consequences before taking up a fitness routine, then this magic little device was made for you, you will actually start enjoying your workouts.
8.
In all honesty, how can it really achieve that?
Well, the thing is that once you've used it for a while, you start to see that your daily targets are not only achievable, but quite easily surpassed.
Then suddenly, this terrible thing called exercise actually becomes an uplifting form of daily enjoyment, and why...
Because you see that you can do it.
Right now you probably think that it is impossible...
That is where you are wrong...
It is possible.
Get yourself a pedometer, wear it and get moving, you owe it to yourself to spend the measly twenty bucks to help get you motivated.
By the way, if you would like to really "turbo charge" your diet and exercise program, then consider detoxifying your body before starting your routine.
It really makes a lot of sense when you think about it.
Completely ridding your colon of all the toxic sludge build up will free up your system, to capitalize on the benefits of your diet and exercise.
