Home Business Prospecting = Why Are You SO SCARED?

Many people create a lot of anxiety within themselves when prospecting in their home business or any type of sales business.
I recently spoke with many business owners who told me that their biggest fear was picking up the phone to prospect or communicate with future business partners.
After talking with these people for well over an hour, I realized that what they fear the most is not the phone, it's the anxiety of wondering what the person on the other side of the phone will say to them.
It's called fear of rejection.
After long conversations and coaching these business owners from all different industries, I told them that that the phone does not weigh 50 lbs.
It's not going to hurt or kick your ass.
It's the emotional weight that the outcome of using the phone brings to us when prospecting for your business or home business.
It's emotional...
I'll explain.
When it comes to prospecting for your business, the more comfortable you are about yourself the more comfortable you'll become using the phone.
Many times we become so consumed over the outcomes of things that it creates anxiety in our body, which then transmutes energy to the other person we are talking with, whether it be over the phone or in person.
So by the time we actually are talking with the other person, we've already created so much anxiety in our body that it tends to show the other person how uncomfortable we are with ourselves, which makes them uncomfortable.
There are three skills you must master...
asking, receiving, and listening.
This starts by becoming comfortable with yourself.
You must learn to create interest by creating and neutralizing questions.
I teach these skills with the home business owners I work with.
Here are my four L's you must master: Love yourself - Means you're comfortable being you.
People open up to you because of the warmth that you provide.
Many lack this skill and it's not really teachable.
Love life - Warm smile, you have the ability to strike up conversations with other people.
When you walk down the street you don't look down at the ground when someone makes eye contact with you.
Love people - Do you truly love people, so many people like to hide behind their computer screens these days, however, you must be able to communicate and connect with people.
You don't take things personally.
Loving what you do- Means you love what you do and you teach others how to love their craft as well.
It means that you're a leader.
You do lots of what you do, and it's not work for you because you love what you do.
Anytime our body goes into an anxiety state, we tend to show others our emotions.
This is why people ask you, "What's Wrong?" It's because you're showing your emotional state to others.
When you're on the phone with people they feel your emotions.
If you expect prospecting over the phone to be a challenge, you get exactly what you think about.
When you decide to let go of your emotional energy and your ego, you'll start to realize just how easy it is to pick up the phone and connect with potential clients and prospects in your business.
