What to Include In A Powerful Autoresponder Message

An autoresponder is a very powerful tool that you can utilize for your online business. When it is set up right, you'll be able to reap the rewards from your efforts repeatedly.

The first message should be a welcome or thank you message. For requesting your newsletter, special report, or free e-book. Try to make it warm and friendly.

For an e-mail series, send a couple of emails that provide some information that your prospect/customer will find usefully and beneficial. You will reap the rewards later. A newsletter should have a combination of information and include your sales message.

Now that you have started to build a relationship with your reader, you can send a sales letter. Simply provide a recommendation for a product or service. Don't try to sell in your letter. Just provide your recommendation letting them know why you found it useful, or created it. Giving them your link for your website or affiliate link where they can get additional information.

Your website or affiliate link should be able to make the sale for you. Most people don't enjoy the hard sell. Ultimately it would be better for the reader not to click on your link today, then to have them unsubscribe.

Decide Which Format

There are several formats your can use to send an autoresponder. Use either plain text, HTML, or both for your message. I would encourage you to consider sending both formats so that the reader can use the format of their choice.

Double Opt In or Not

Most autoresponders give you the choice whether or not your subscribers will have to complete a double opt in verification. You can do some testing but you will find that if someone is not interested enough to spend a minute or two to open your email and click on a confirmation link in the email, that they're probably not that interested in becoming your customer anyway. It is better to concentrate on your targeted market, then to worry about the whole market.

No Spam Allowed

Plus, you must be careful of spam. You would not want to be accused of sending out spam, and finding your email shut down. Too many people forget that they signed up for your newsletter or to receive your information. Then later, accusing you of spam. With double opt in, you protect yourself from any complaints...
