How to Play With Your Child When You Are Too Tired to Move
Often times parent are tired.
Let's face it, its normal...
the demands at work are difficult and when you get home you just want to relax.
Unfortunately for you child, they do not understand the meaning of a parent being "too tired" to play.
You see to children, we as parents are like superheroes.
And as "superheroes" we don't get tired, or need a break...
we can just play and play and play...
So the next question becomes (because your child will never "buy" that you are too tired to play) how do I play with my child when I am too tired to move? Here are two suggestions of games you can play that involve you and the child during time you are tired..
The Number game I personally enjoy playing a game I call "the number game".
This is where I think of a number between 1 and 10 (you can make it up to 30 depending on the age) and the child has to guess.
When my child says the wrong number, I make a funny loud buzzer sound.
When my child finally guesses the # correct I go "DING DING DING DING" and tickle my sons.
Then they think of a number and I have to guess it.
My children love to play this game, and we can play it for at least 15-30 minutes before we move on to something else.
I Spy I am pretty sure everyone has heard of this game.
The rules are simple and it goes as follows: One person picks out an object in the room and says "I spy with my little eye something (mention the color of the object).
Then the second player has to guess what the object is.
The second play guesses what the object is until he or she gets it right.
Once the second player gets it right, now it's his/her turn to pick out something and say "I spy with my little eye something (mention the color).
In conclusion, the truth is you can turn anything into a game with your child.
You can use these two suggestions when you are too tired to move, or you can completely make one up yourself.
Have fun with it, because no matter what you turn into a game to play with your child they will love to play!
