How to Plant a Wisteria
- 1). Choose an area that receives full or nearly full sun and is near a sturdy structure, such as a trellis. Plant wisteria vines in the spring or fall.
- 2). Dig a hole that is the same depth as the ball of roots and up to three times as wide.
- 3). Space planting holes 10 to 15 feet apart.
- 4). Place a wisteria plant in each prepared hole.
- 5). Fill each hole halfway with soil.
- 6). Saturate the hole with water to allow the soil to settle and diminish pockets of air.
- 7). Fill the remaining portion of each hole with soil once the water has drained.
- 8). Water each hole thoroughly.
