Old Versus New In The World Of Bean Bags
There must be a serious market for the decades old slouchy styled bean chair, or the never-ending supply of them offered online, and in retail stores, would fade out. Instead of dwindling away, the promotions continue to ascend. While this is great for the less expensive style, the high-end models have somewhat of an uphill battle to eliminate the tie between the two.
Unfortunately, for the modern variations there is an enormous disconnect with a large portion of the population when the words bean and bag are applied to a product line. This is due to the contrasting shapeless ball seat, and the updated refined figure being at odds in both reality and image.
The revolutionary changes that were implemented when designers set out to create the new form of furniture have been acknowledged to a certain degree. Those in the know are aware of those attributes, and this is precisely why interior decorators have installed the soft furniture into their hotel, celebrity home, and nightclub projects.
However, it is still a hurdle to overcome the familiarity of the lesser grade materials that have become synonymous with the low-end variety of beanbags, and the quality textiles used in the high end ones. Of course, considering the fact that the traditional bean bag has survived for over 40 years, it too should be appreciated for its longevity. Maybe once the designer couches, chairs and ottomans assert themselves they too will enjoy an equally lengthy run.
