Spool-Line Trimmer

• 1). Turn the weed trimmer on its side. On the bottom end of the weed trimmer the spool is locked into the head by two small hooks.
  
  
• 2). Press the hooks in with your hand and pull the spool off the trimmer head.
  
  
• 3). Cut a 2 foot line of trimmer wire for your new line. Wrap it around the spool until there is about 6 inches of wire that is not wrapped around the spool.
  
  
• 4). Place the spool near the trimmer head. Put the extra 6 inches of wire through the hole in the trimmer head.
  
  
• 5). Snap the spool into the trimmer head. Gently pull the wire protruding through the trimmer head until it is tight.
  
  

Fixed-Line Trimmer

• 1). Lay the weed trimmer on its side.
  
  
• 2). Grab a piece of fixed-line trimmer wire. Pieces are already pre-cut into the correct length.
  
  
• 3). Locate the two holes in the center of the bottom end of the trimmer head. Slide one end of the wire through one hole and the other end through the other hole. Continue to slide them through until the wire comes out both sides.
  
  
• 4). Tighten the wire by grabbing both ends and pulling them tight.
