    • 1). Request the company's annual report. You can request one through investor relations or go to the company website to download. You may also be able to download one from your favorite investment research site.

    • 2). Determine total liabilities. This line item can be found on the balance sheet. Let's say total liabilities are valued at $50,000.

    • 3). Determine cash. This is also on the balance sheet and is usually the first line item in the assets section. Let's say cash is $35,000.

    • 4). Calculate net cash. The calculation is cash minus total liabilities:
      $50,000 minus $35,000 = $15,000.
