How to Export From cPanel to cPanel
- 1). Access your cPanel account and navigate to the "Databases" area.
- 2). Click on "phpMyAdmin" to access the database administration area and the actual database files.
- 3). Select the "Databases" tab if it does not load automatically. This will load all of the databases that are stored on your cPanel account and allow you to work with the entries individually.
- 4). Click the name of the database you're going to be exporting. If you are not sure which database you're needing to export, look in your website or setup configuration files and determine the right one. If you don't export the correct database, you will have to start the process over.
- 5). Scroll down and choose "Select All" so that all of the individual database entries are selected.
- 6). Scroll up and click the "Export" tab. This will allow you to download your selected database and all of its table entries into an SQL file.
- 7). Confirm the sections of the database that you want to export. In most cases, you will want to export the entire database at once. If the database is unusually large, you have the option of exporting it in sections. Exporting large databases in sections reduces the likelihood of errors when imported back into cPanel.
- 8). Select "Go" to complete the database export process, and save the SQL file to your computer. Put it in an area where it is easily accessible, especially if you are planning to re-import it on a new server.
