Ikea Reissues Vintage Furniture Favorites
Ikea released 26 classic designs from their archives for their 70th anniversary. The limited-edition ARGANG collection is a mix of modernist decor, from sofas to serving bowls, that are all perfect for small spaces. All of this retro goodness is not available online and will only be sold in select stores. The eye-popping textiles and the sexy tripod lamp you see in the photo above will not be available in the U.S.
(Blurg! I really want that rug!)
I share a few of my favorites from Ikea's latest collection on the following pages. Each item is perfect for space challenged homes.
The STRANDMON Sofa
Here's the thing. There are a lot of Ikea haters out there, and I get it. I was once on that side of the fence. But this collection proves that Ikea's designs really stand the test of time. And for the money, their merchandise packs a lot of value. The STRANDMON winged sofa from their limited edition ARGANG collection is a perfect example of enduring style at a great price. And according to Ikea, its high back provides great head and neck support.
Not bad for a 60-inch wide sofa that costs less than $600.

The ARJEPLOG Pendant Lamp Set
When it comes to light fixtures, Ikea always nails it. Where else can you buy pendant lamps that pack as much style as the ones you see on sites like Design Within Reach, for a fraction of the price? The ARJEPLOG pendant lamp set makes my heart go pitter-patter. It oozes timeless mid-century style and the brass metal accents are spot on with today's hottest decor trends. This beauty costs less than $70.

I always wanted a boomerang shaped coffee table, and this triangular shaped one comes close. The LOVBACKEN coffee table made its first Ikea catalog appearance in 1956. If you're one of those matchy-matchy people, the ARGANG collection includes matching end tables.
This mid-century delight costs less than $80.
The KLAPPA chair is Ikea's take on the iconic Butterfly chair designed by Knoll Hardoy (my parents have an original leather one --yea, I want it.) These chairs are all about easy comfortable style. Even better, the covers are machine washable.
