How to Pot a Purslane Plant
- 1). Fill a container to within 2 inches of its rim with light, rich potting soil such as a well-draining loam.
- 2). Scatter purslane seeds over the soil, leaving 1 inch between seeds, then cover seeds with 1 inch of soil. Water the soil to moisten. Keep the soil wet until the seeds germinate.
- 3). Thin the seedlings, leaving 7 inches of space between each. Purslane spreads, so this ensures each plant had adequate room to develop.
- 4). Place your pots in a sunny location.
- 5). Water your purslane when the soil feel dry to the touch or the purslane leaves seem droopy.
- 1). Fill your pot halfway with light, rich potting soil.
- 2). Place the purslane cutting into your pot so it sits at the same level in the soil as it did in its container. Spread the roots out with your fingers.
- 3). Top off the potting soil to within 1 inch of the rim. Water to saturate the soil.
