    • 1). Add more fiber into your diet. Eating fewer than 20 grams of fiber a day can cause constipation, which may prompt stomach gas. Eat plenty of fruits, whole grains and vegetables, or consider fiber capsules to regulate bowel movements and stop constipation.

    • 2). Take a digestive enzyme. While vegetables and fruits are a good source of fiber, some foods increase the likelihood of gas. These can include cauliflower, broccoli, beans, wheat products, lettuce and cabbage. Purchase a digestive supplement like Beano to ward off stomach gas.

    • 3). Limit milk products. If you're lactose intolerant, drinking or eating milk products can produce symptoms such as gas, cramping and bloating. Choose lactose-free products or take a lactose digestive enzyme.

    • 4). Reduce your intake of sodas. Sodas and other carbonated beverages can trigger abdominal bloating and gas. Limit your intake of sodas, or completely remove these drinks from your diet.

    • 5). Decrease your consumption of red meats. Frequently eating red meats can slow digestion and produce gas symptoms. Reduce your intake to improve your digestive health.

    • 6). Consider ways to reduce air in your stomach. Swallowing air also causes stomach gas and pain. Reduce air in your abdomen by eating slowly, giving up smoking and avoiding drinking straws.

    • 7). Use medications. Take anti-gas medication such as Gas-X, available from your local pharmacy, to get rid of excess gas in your stomach. Use as directed.
