Six Flags New England is the region's largest theme park and a great choice for family fun from spring through fall. The former Riverside amusement park in Agawam, Massachusetts, became Six Flags New England in 2000, marking Six Flags Theme Parks Inc.'s first foray into the New England states.
Six Flags New England delivers all of the thrill rides, tamer rides, children's rides and amusements and shows and events that visitors to the theme park company's other 17 North American locations flock to year after year. In 2003, the Island Kingdom Water Park was expanded and renamed Hurricane Harbor, and in 2007, Six Flags New England added new themed areas for young children. There are more new park features in store at Six Flags New England for 2015 including a roller coaster that will be the first of its kind on the East Coast.
For the 2015 season, the park will be open Friday through Sunday starting April 11 (plus weekdays during spring school break weeks April 13-24). It then operates seven days a week from Friday, May 22 until Monday, September 7. During the remainder of September, the amusement park will be open weekends only, and from October 3 through November 1, it will be open weekends, plus Monday, October 12 (Columbus Day) and Fridays, October 16, 23 and 30. A complete calendar with hours of operation is available at the Six Flags New England Web site.
Hurricane Harbor Waterpark hours and dates may vary from the Six Flags New England schedule.
