How to Get Rid of a Hornets' Nest at the End of My Mobile Home
- 1). Put on your bee suit. The wasps might escape and attack once treatment begins.
- 2). Treat the hornets' nest with a dust or spray insecticide labeled for use on hornets' nests. Aim the spray into the hole in the bottom of the nest. Keep spraying until you see no more hornet activity. Don't stand directly beneath the hole. The hornets might sting as they fall out of the nest.
- 3). Observe the nest for hornet activity over the next 24 hours. If you notice any hornet activity, treat the nest again the following evening. Do not proceed to Step 4 until there is no activity for 24 hours.
- 4). Knock the nest down with a broom handle. Scrub any residue with soapy water and a scrub brush. Do not leave the nest in place. It will attract scavenging insects.
