Your event's success and guest's satisfactions are your main concerns so here are a few tips to keep in mind when working with a caterer.

1. Describe your event, in detail, to your caterer. Let them help you plan the perfect menu based on your event theme and their expert advice! Your menu should fit the theme of your evening.

2. Prioritize your budget. Think about the things that are most important to you for your event. No matter the size of your budget, there is usually a limit. Think carefully about where you want to spend your dollars. Top shelf liquor? Fancy Appetizers? Knowing what is most important to you before you start working with the caterer will help you pick your plans and packages as offered by the company.

3. Take a taste test and talk about special requests.Professional caterers will offer a way for you to sample the dishes you want to use for your event. Make sure you talk to your caterer about any special dietary requests your guests have. See if they have a plan for people with food allergies or for vegetarians.

4. What services are included or provided as extras? If you are using their facilities ask for a site visit. If they are bringing the food to a separate reception area ask where the food will be prepared and how it will be served. Are they providing tables, chairs, cake cutting, etc.?

With the right caterer your event will be a huge hit with family, friends and co-workers alike. Great food and great company of cajun food will make your event a night to remember.
