How to Turn an Old CD Into a Cool Clock
- 1). Clean the CD, front and back, with a dry cloth. Be sure there is no dust or lint on the side you are decorating, and use the cloth to polish the CD if the shiny side is exposed.
- 2). Decorate the CD using paint, glitter, stickers and foam shapes. Sketch a pattern onto the CD or freehand a design with paint and paint pens. Use colors that coordinate with your room decor, or style the CD clock like a peace sign, billiard ball or similar popular image. Seal the image with shellac or a fixative/sealant to protect your design.
- 3). Assemble the clockwork mechanism following the instructions included with the kit. Use a larger washer to anchor the clockwork to the CD, and use hot glue or craft glue to keep the CD and clock mechanism together.
