Buying the Right Drill

Tools can be expensive, so it is very important to buy the right one.
Always select each tool as you need it rather than buying a whole heap at once, and always buy the best you can afford.
This way you will build up your tool kit slowly and carefully, adding to it as you get more advanced.
When it comes to buying the right drill it is easy to be overwhelmed with the choice.
First of all you need to decide whether you need a battery drill or a power drill.
Both these types of drills are useful in their own way, and it is often handy to have both.
A battery drill is portable, and can be used where there is no electricity available.
However, they are not as powerful as electric drills, and they do need to be kept charged to be useful.
Power drills on the other hand, can be extremely powerful and will always work if you can plug them in.
However, they cannot be used where there are no electrical outlets.
When you have decided which type of drill you are going to buy, the next big question is how much do you have to spend? Drills range from the extremely cheap to the ludicrously expensive, and everything in between.
Like I said you should always buy the most expensive drill you can afford, so make sure before you start looking that you set yourself a budget and stick to it.
If you're going to spend more than a couple of hundred dollars then you should look at getting a top quality brand name item.
This means you should look at the Makita, DeWalt, or Hitachi range of drills.
These companies are renowned for their quality and service, and you know if you buy one of these you'll have a drill that will last a long time.
