Tips For Choosing Designer Christening Wear

Your baby's christening is one of the most important events of their life so far and so it is important to have them looking their very best.
Often a christening will be the first opportunity for the extended family to meet your little one in the flesh and it will likely be the setting for your first official family portraits.
With baby being at the centre of attention it is no wonder that parents spend hours choosing just the right christening gown for the day.
It is becoming more common for babies to wear a designer outfit for their big day, but there are so many to choose from that the choice can be fairly difficult.
So with that in mind I have put together some pointers for choosing the right outfit for your child to wear at their christening ceremony.
Consider Your Color Options When it comes to a traditional christening outfit the usual color is of course white which symbolizes purity and innocence.
However, the more modern and fashion conscious parents out there are now opting for designer gowns that incorporate subtle color.
It is now acceptable to dress the baby in ivory, cream or perhaps even pastel pink or blue.
Just make sure that your church is not going to insist on the traditional white attire.
Sorting Through The Styles The traditional choice for any christening is a gown and there are many different styles available on the market.
It is most common for gowns to consist of a simple bodice and a long white skirt.
However, dome designer christening gowns have introduced more embellishment including embroidery and tulle skirts.
This has resulted in many people feeling that a traditional gown is too feminine for a little boy.
If this is how you feel, then it is possible to purchase suits or rompers that are more appropriate for your little man.
Adding Accessories to Compliment Your Choice Choosing your christening gown is only the beginning! You will also wish to add some matching accessories to complete the look.
This might seem like excess, but in truth, the majority of these accessories are actually fairly practical in nature.
Many christening outfits come with a matching bib to stop the outfit getting soiled by drool or vomit.
In addition to this, many parents choose to purchase a coordinating shawl to keep the baby warm and cosy.
Some of the other additional accessories to consider include socks, hats and cardigans.
The christening outfit that you end up choosing will depend on your own personal tastes and on any requirements that are put in place by your church.
One thing to remember is that this is a special day and it should be treated with respect so avoid anything too outlandish.
