Prioritizing - The Skill a Mom Entrepreneur Must Have!

103 7
We all have had days where there are so many things on our plates and they all are important, all necessary.
Life gets so crazy that many important tasks get put by the wayside or never even completed leaving you VERY frustrated, irritated and possibly defeated.
How do you know what should be at the top of the list? What actions are the most important for the day? For your life? Your business? How do you get it all organized and running efficiently? There are a bazillion ways to prioritize for your life and a bazillion ways to prioritize for your business.
Here is a quick way adapted from Stephen Covey to get things straight.
First, decide on a day or a time EACH day where you will spend some time specifically on dumping your brain.
Get it all out so you can begin to organize it.
Think of it like spilling the candy jar and you have figure out which candy you will eat first, next then last ( I always go for the Kit Kats!) Next, Decide if what you dumped fit into 4 categories (yes, this is a great refresher!) These categories are: Urgent and Important Important but Not Urgent Urgent Not Important None- Time wasters Make a decision: URGENT AND IMPORTANT- tasks you do yourself that are critical.
IMPORTANT NOT URGENT- complete these after you created your goals and set your deadlines URGENT NOT IMPORTANT- Give to someone else to complete- delegate Neither URGENT OR IMPORTANT- Ignore Ask your self the question- "What are the activities and tasks that will contribute significantly to my goals and values and personal development Today? Right Now?"
