How to Clean a Roasting Pan
Instructions
1Fill the roasting pan with ammonia and put the entire pan in a large plastic garbage bag. Tie the top of the bag securely and put the pan away for a few days. Remove the bag, dispose of the ammonia, and wash the roasting pan as usual.
2
Fill the roasting pan with water and squeeze in a generous dollop of dishwashing liquid. Put the roasting pan on a burner and bring the soapy water to a boil. Let it boil for several minutes and then turn the heat off, allow it to cool and scrub the roasting pan as usual.
3
Sprinkle baking soda on the burned areas. Mix 1/3 cup of vinegar with 1 cup of hot water and pour it over the baking soda. Allow it to fizz and bubble for a while, and scrub the pan clean.
4
Spray the roasting pan with oven cleaner in a well ventilated area. Lay the pan on a thick layer of newspapers and let it sit overnight. Soak it in a sink full of hot water the next morning, and wash it with dishwashing detergent.
