- 1). Set the helmet on a clean table, facing the face shield towards you. Open the face shield completely.
- 2). Pull the gray locking levers on the bottom of the shield lock mechanisms forward to unlock the face shield. These are located on both sides of the helmet.
- 3). Grasp the base of the face shield and pull it out of the shield lock mechanisms on both sides of the helmet. Set the face shield aside.
- 4). Place the new face shield over the shield lock mechanisms in an approximation of the fully-opened position. Slide the upper edges of the notches on the base of the face shield into the shield lock mechanisms.
- 5). Press the face shield's base into the shield lock mechanisms until the locking arms lock into place.
- 6). Lower the face shield. Check that the locking arms have retracted to the rear of the shield lock mechanism if the face shield is difficult to close.
