Sex - The Stress Reliever
But have you considered it as a stress-relieving practice? I am not implying that you should or should not.
This is a morally and culturally affective matter.
But from a health standpoint, here is why sex is great for tension relief.
- It is physical.
It releases our muscles from tension. - It is emotional.
Negative emotions like fear, anger, loneliness, frustration, and depression are being released and taken place with relaxing and pleasurable feelings. - It provides social support.
It is the physical and emotional comfort that we get from our loved ones that has a positive effect on our mental well-being, and relationships. - It triggers the release of endorphins.
These are neurotransmitters produced in the brain that reduce pain, give us an elated feeling that could last for up to 12 hours in some people.
Yes, this is the same elated feeling that we get after a good laugh, during exercise, and in an orgasm.
Feeling good after an exercise is not because we don't feel guilty of the weight anymore, it is the action of our endorphins.
Endorphins are our body's natural pain killers, laughing gas, and euphoria inducer.
It varies to certain degrees in people.
It depends on the individual's overall health.
It all boils down to the basics.
Eat healthy, exercise, get enough rest and sleep, do not worry too much of life's obligations, organize, relieve stress in other ways, and set the mood.
