A Cool Bookmarklet Within Squidoo

Another cool feature of Squidoo, is that it has a great little gadget called a Bookmarklet.
The Bookmarket allows someone to easily and quickly add content to their Squidoo lens, yet still browsing other content and cruising the online world.
Also this nifty feature allows you to add links to your lens.
Click on the Squiddo link at the bottom of this article, to see this in operation.
You will observe the Squidoo Bookmarklet link.
Add this to your favourites, or bookmarks simply by clicking on it in your internet browser.
When you go to a site for which you want the link to be added to your Squidoo lens, click on the bookmark in your browser menu bar, to quickly add this link.
Then it brings up a page where you can add the information you would like to feature.
Next you need to fill in a heading, sub title is then optional, but add a description as well as inserting the URL of the link that you wish to have in place there.
Click save, of course and publish once you have completed.
The bookmark is then added to your Squidoo lens as a link, complete with the description you have inserted.
Now if your in the minority, and use Firefox, you can get their extension for Squidoo.
It's a worthwhile extension to own.
It will insert two small icons to your toolbar in the browser.
One of these icons when clicked, will bring you to your lens, and the other icon conjures up the small form you need to fill in to create the link to your lens.
What is the rationale for wanting to add these links to your lens? The reason, it's a slick way to update your lens, which in turn underscores that some content has been added according to both Squidoo and Google.
That means that Google will re-index the lens, and that might just result in a much higher search engine placement for your keywords.
Did you know that the Squidoo bookmark is not the only one you should be using? You will notice that there are already a list of small icons that allow you to bookmark your page, and all to the most commonly used social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook too.
Make sure that after you have completed your bookmark, click these icons to add your lens to the networks in question.
Submit your lens to StumbleUpon and Reddit as well.
You could also use your own social bookmarking icons in your browser bar.
Remember, StumbleUpon has a great list of icons that you can drag and drop into your Firefox browser bar.
However, this is not a feature if you are a Safari user.
All this is great, because Squidoo is a really cool example of a true Web 2.

The main reason for it's existence, is so that you can share and enjoy content with other users.
As an added bonus to all this, the fun of using other Web 2.
0 techniques such as the social sites mentioned above, networking with like minded communities to broadcast your precious content throughout cyberspace.
