How to Cover a Cornice Board With Fabric
- 1). Trace the cornice board onto the wrong side of the fabric, using the tailor's chalk. Cut out the fabric with scissors, roughly 8 to 10 inches, from this line, depending on the amount of padding you will be using; the more padding, the larger the margin from the line should be. Embellish the right of the fabric with trims, if desired. For instance, sew ribbon in vertical strips along the center front of the fabric.
- 2). Trace the cornice board onto a piece of paper, and use this paper as a template to cut out a piece of padding that matches the size and shape of the board.
- 3). Place the padding on the board. Center the fabric over the padding, and fold the edges of the fabric to the back of the board.
- 4). Glue, staple, or nail the fabric to the back of the board.
