Orlando has agreeable weather nearly all year, so it's no surprise that many visitors come to the area for golf. The Orlando Visitor's Bureau says there are over 100 golf courses in the area, and the International Association of Golf Tour Operators named Orlando the "North American Golf Destination of the Year 2010."
Not to be outdone by its more sophisticated older cousin, miniature golf also has a large presence in the Orlando area. International Drive and U.S. Highway 192 both feature several mini golf attractions.

Theme parks gave Orlando its prominent place on the world tourism map, and most Orlando vacations include a visit to at least one of the parks. As the largest and most visited Orlando attraction, the Walt Disney World resort features four parks, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom.
The Universal Orlando Resort includes Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, where "The Wizarding World of Harry Potter" is scheduled to open in June 2010. SeaWorld has thrill rides and thrilling animal interactions, plus a sister park, Discovery Cove, where guests mingle with tropical fish and swim with dolphins.
One of the area's oldest attractions, Gatorland provides a close up look at alligators, crocodiles, native birds and other wildlife. As a smaller animal park, Gatorland tends to be more intimate than the bigger attractions.

Summer temperatures in Orlando can reach over 100 degrees Fahrenheit, so area water parks offer a cool alternative to melting in the heat. Disney has two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, and Aquatica by SeaWorld sits across the street from the marine mammal park. Universal's Wet 'n Wild features wild slides and refreshing wave pools.
For something more natural, Orlando is about an hour from either coast. Cocoa, Daytona, and New Smyrna Beach lie to the east, while Clearwater and St. Petersburg are to the west.
