Installation for a Blade Belt for Craftsman Riding Mowers
- 1). Remove the screws from the right hand mandrel cover and remove the cover. This is the opposite cover that you would have removed when you were removing the mower drive belt. Unhook the spring from the bolt on the mower housing.
- 2). Roll the blade belt off the right hand mandrel pulley. Remove the belt from the center mandrel pulley and left hand mandrel pulley. If you have a camera on hand, take a photograph to remind yourself how the belt passes though the various pulleys.
- 3). Brush any accumulated grass and debris off the pulleys and deck. Check that the spring is hooked into the idler arm and hasn't become dislodged while you brushed. Make sure the idler arm and idler move freely.
- 4). Install the new blade drive belt in the lower groove of the left hand mandrel pulley, idler pulley and center pulley. Roll the belt over the right hand pulley. Use the photograph for guidance. Reconnect the spring onto the bolt in the mower housing and screw the right hand mandrel cover back into place.
