Obeying The Ten Commandments Results in Liberty Freedom and So Much More
The other six Commandments describe the basic essentials regarding how we relate to people around us or how we can get on with others in our everyday living.
First things are put first.
Priorities take their proper place in our lives.
Almighty God tells us that all of His Commandments are for our good.
That is their purpose.
They are intended to bless mankind as well as imparting blessing upon us as individual men and women.
This is pretty comprehensive.
Never let anyone tell you that God's ways are limiting and restricting.
It is God's desire to include everyone and exclude no-one.
The consequence of obeying the Ten Commandments is respect, co-operation and stability within any society that understands and applies them.
Disobeying the Commandments results in the opposite, with an increasing disintegration of society.
As people move away from the Maker's instructions society begins to break down.
The Ten Commandments are much more than a list of do's and don'ts.
God does not give man the liberty to behave any way he pleases.
Living according to what God declares will produce liberty, in as much as a man will be free from sin and its devastating consequences.
One day Jesus Christ was being tempted, and His reply to the tempter was, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
" On another occasion Jesus spoke to those who were coming to believe Him, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples.
Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.
"Freedom is certainly not being able to do whatever you choose, whenever you should choose to do it.
That is the recipe for disaster.
People will march for freedom, protest for what they regard as freedom and even fight for freedom.
We experience freedom as we embrace the truth of God.
This is the method God has revealed and it would be highly unwise to attempt to improve upon God's ways for mankind.
