Some of the Biggest Family Movies Coming in May, June and July
We made a day out of it, lunch, movie and then a dessert talking how about how much fun we just had.
Even though they are grown now I still look forward to the coming summer films.
This year is as great as any, take a look with me to see what the first part of summer has in store for families.
Thanks to Tony Stark aka Iron Man, summers in the cinema begin in the first week of May, since 2008.
This year isn't any different on May 2, 2013 we will see the return of the narcissistic, yet lovable Tony Stark in Marvel's Iron Man 3.
The trailers for this film are phenomenal.
We know that this film takes place right where Marvel's Avengers, left off.
As we see in the most recent trailer.
Tony Stark, (played brilliantly by Robert Downey, Jr.
) has some emotional demons to deal with.
We see him finally admitting how much he cares for the adorable Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow).
He also has a very powerful villain, The Mandarin(Ben Kingsley), to deal with.
We see a great deal of action + adventure that not only do we expect from an Iron Man film, but we have grown to expect from a Marvel film.
This looks to have it all, a smart, fun family film of good vs evil.
Next in May, 2013 we have director J.
J.
Abrams' explosive action thriller 'Star Trek; Into Darkness.
The trailers in the United States lacked the action and excitement of this film originally.
Today April 16, 2013 all that changed.
An amazing, exciting trailer was just released.
In the beginning our hero Captain James T.
Kirk (Chris Pines) is being advised not to go after the villain.
Then we see a war that is taking us on our planet earth.
Which is exploding, then we back into space where we would expect a to find a Star Trek film.
This really is going to take off as a very fun family film.
In June we can get ready to start our summer term at Disney/Pixar's Monsters University.
Monster's Inc.
is one of those great classic films I spoke of in the summary.
It had heart, laughs and action.
Since it's first film Pixar has shown us the difference between a family film and a kid's film, family films have something for everyone at different levels.
Pixar has been criticized over it's last few releases not being up to par with it's earlier classics.
Well the trailer for this one shows they got back to basics, it is going to be a lot of fun.
We see everyone's favorite one-eyed green hero, Mike Wazowski (Billy Crystal), on his first day in college.
He finds his roommate to be none other than the lovable and soon to be bf, James P.
Sullivan(John Goodman).
They start out competing to be MU's top scarer and mixed in we have some very funny college hi-jinks.
The plot itself is unclear but the trailer shows that getting there is going to be more than half the fun.
We also have the hero of heroes back in an incredible reboot, this June as well.
Yes we are talking about Superman in the "Man of Steel", In this trailer also just released today.
We are seeing a secret Superman.
Saving people mysteriously, he has a very dark costume and find out that the big "S" never really meant "Superman".
So you can enjoy this trailer too and the film looks equally fun as well.
Then on July 3 we have two more great films to watch for.
We will see the animated sequel Despicable Me 2 and the live action Disney's The Lone Ranger.
In Despicable Me 2, we see the return of our favorite villain, Gru (Steve Carell), those adorable little girls and very funny minions.
This time as we see in the most recent trailer Gru is the hero hired by the anti-villain league to go after a more dangerous villain bent on destroying the planet.
In The Lone Ranger, we have a buddy picture with everyone's favorite chameleon Johnny Depp as Tonto and Armie Hammer in the title role.
This is also a fun action film judging by it's action packed trailer.
The trailer tells us that the Lone Ranger has a special power and can't be killed in battle.
The trailer goes on to show a fun relationship between our heroes.
