- 1). Remove the spark plug wire from the spark plug on the front of the model 560. Find the two hex-head shoulder bolts that secure the belt cover to the front of the mower deck. Remove the shoulder bolts with a 7/16-inch socket wrench.
- 2). Press the sides of the belt cover in to release the side tabs from the height-adjuster brackets. Lift the belt cover away from the deck.
- 3). Find the bolt securing the idler pulley to the idler bracket. The idler is the pulley on the top right rear of the mower deck. Remove the idler bolt from the pulley and bracket with the socket wrench.
- 4). Remove the belt from the idler pulley with your fingers. Go to the front of the mower and lift up the deck so you can access the remaining belt under the deck.
- 5). Slip the belt off the engine pulley. Pull the entire belt around the blade and remove it from the model 560.
