Are you looking for a Golf Training Aid to help you improve your game? Golf companies with deep pockets can create very convincing marketing campaigns to lead you to believe their teaching aid will help you play better, cure your slice, drive the ball farther.
improve your putting or improve your mental game.
If you've ever been to a Golf Show, you'll see there are hundreds of these golf products on the market.
Many of them are gimmicky and don't really work.
I've personally met with over 80 golf professionals to discuss what Golf Training Aids work and what doesn't.
What I found was a consistent theme - if the Swing Trainer or Putting Aid restricts or constricts your natural body movement, it's likely not going to be effective.
An example of a golf teaching tool that is both expensive and very restrictive and not effective is the full circle swing trainer.
It forces you to swing on a certain plane.
The challenge is that note everyone swings on the same plane for their back swing and downswing.
Take a look a Jim Furyk's swing for example - I think he'd even have a difficult time with this one.
Some golf teaching aids are not meant to be a golf swing training aids.
This is certainly true of the Speed Stick, which is endorsed by Vijay Singh.
It's designed to tell you what your swing speed is but does nothing to help you improve.
It may be helpful for some teaching applications as a golf pro.
There are also some golf teaching aids that are just plain difficult to use.
The Momentous Swing Trainer is a perfect example of this type of golf aid - I've found that most people who use it get quite frustrated trying to use it on their own.
It is designed to teach you the proper swing plane and path, however most players (especially new golfers) will have a difficult time figuring this out without the help of a PGA teaching Pro.
How to get rid of slice golf: The best training aids I can recommend to fix a slice are the Inside Approach, the Assist Pro or the Foot Wedge.

Golf Putting Training Aids: The best Putting Aid I've ever seen is the Targaline Putting System.
I've seen a new golfer make 17 / 18 putts from 6 feet using this golf teaching aid.
How it works is by using a mirror and a string to allow you to determine if your eyes are directly over the ball.
Tests have shown that 95% of golfers mistakenly think their eyses are over the ball when they are not.
It only stands to reason that if you are not directly over the ball, you can't accurately judge the line and you will always be compensating.
Practicing with this has reduced my average putts per round by 3 shots and I'm now a 7 handicap.
Whoever said "Practice makes Perfect" was WRONG! With most golf instruction aids or putting aids, I'd recommend you work with a PGA teaching professional to show you how to properly use them.
Only perfect practice makes perfect.
