Golf is a very popular game with its equitable handicap system people of all ages and abilities can enjoy a game together. You have the choice of playing either 18 holes or 9 holes depending on the time you have available or your fitness. It's outstanding exercise and is played in attractive surroundings.

Golf Clubs

The first thing you want is a set of golf clubs. There is a vast range to select from which can be very confusing. To prevent problems with unsuitable clubs get advice as to which clubs would be suitable for you from a club fitter or golf professional. Buying a half set of clubs initially is another option. Another decision is if you will purchase a stand bag which you will carry or use a trundler. When choosing a bag make sure that it has ample pockets for clothing, balls etc.

Starting to Play

To learn the basic skills correctly take a course of lessons. Many beginners have tried playing a few rounds of golf with friends and realise it's not as easy as they thought. When they finally seek assistance from a golf professional several faults have to be undone before the correct basics of golfing technique can be taught.

Warm Up

It's a great idea to get into a routine of warming up before you play. Never hit your first tee shot without doing some loosening exercises first.

Golf Rules and Etiquette
