How to Lose Weight When Depressed

    • 1). Avoid eating fast food and other junk food, especially at night time. Although a nice serving of ice cream or a hamburger may seem like a quick pick-me-up at night, it is going to increase your waist line. Instead, stick to fruit for your midnight eating. A bowl of strawberries with fat free whip cream can give you the sugar fix you need while keeping you fit.

    • 2). Skip the alcohol. Depression often leads many individuals to booze. Alcohol has a large amount of empty calories (calories that don't fill you up) and quickly adds on significant amounts of weight.

    • 3). Take a walk. Staying in your home can sometimes add to your depression. Taking a nice walk around the neighborhood exercises your body, increases your heart rate and boosts your mood.

    • 4). Lift weights. This may be the best way to burn off frustration. Weight lifting forces you to concentrate on the lifting exercise and help free you from depression symptoms. Eventually you may find lifting weights to be a sanctuary from your depression and help you tone your body and lose weight.
