Which Occasions Can You Use Masonic Regalia and What Types?
These mason regalia are usually in the form of aprons and sashes, necklaces and hats etc. If you have seen members of the brotherhood during your initiation ritual, you know what the regalia looks like and you understand why it is important to stock up on your own lodge regalia. You do not want to attend a meeting without using regalia or you might just stick out like a sore thumb and to be honest, doing so is in very bad form.
Do not worry, you do not have to wear the overly fancy and elaborate regalia like the other members do. Because you are new to the brotherhood, you can wear simpler regalia since the most elaborate ones are usually worn by high-ranking members of the lodge. However, you need to prepare yourself because if you ever become president of the lodge you will have to invest in some fancy and elaborate lodge regalia.
Now you are not required to wear mason regalia outside of the lodge but there are some members that opt to do so anyway. Such is their pride in their association with the brotherhood that they take pride in wearing regalia on a day to day basis. In cases such as these, they tend to leave the fancy regalia at home and choose to wear smaller and more subtle pieces like cufflinks and pins and you can take their lead in this.
You might have been given a token when you first joined the brotherhood in the form of cufflinks or a key chain or both but if you want more, you can easily buy some. Most people choose to buy their regalia online since stocks are more readily available but you can also check if there are any suppliers of regalia in your home town.
If you do not want to order online and there are no stores in your hometown, you can always wait for special occasions when your lodge might give away regalia. This usually happens during anniversaries and holidays. You may also get regalia from other lodges during big conferences.
