While many valet parking tickets are now printed out from point-of-sale computers, valet parking services may still use a two-part ticket. One part of the ticket goes to the guest and the other part stays with the vehicle keys. - The valet checks the car before driving it for any body damage. He does not adjust radio settings or seats. When there is time, he backs the car into the parking space so that he can retrieve a vehicle more quickly. Once the car is parked, the valet locks it and rolls up the windows.
- The guest's car keys are properly labeled and stored in the valet key cabinet. This cabinet is kept in a secure place and locked up.
- The valet asks the guest for the claim ticket and then retrieves the keys from the valet key cabinet. The valet inspects the car for damage that may have occurred. He unlocks all doors and starts the vehicle, warming it up slowly. He carefully drives the car back to where the guest is, parks it and turns off the ignition.
