Favorite Gifts from $25. to $1,090,000.

Every year I eagerly await the arrival of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. Although many of the items are high fashion pieces or expensive (but incredible) jewelry, I can usually find something I want to buy for my Holiday collecting at a price I can afford.

These picks from the 2012 Christmas Book are my favorite Price is No Object List for collectors. These catalog gifts range from $1,090,000. down to only $25.

Of course I would like some of the higher priced items, but honestly I would be perfectly happy getting the $25. gift too.

Check out some of my favorites from the 2012 Christmas Book.

Shown on this page, but not included on my list, is the Heritage Hen Mini Farm that boasts heritage hens, gardens, a multi-level dwelling with a library, living room and broody room, along with much more.

His and Her Million Dollar Watches

I don't think it gets any better than having custom made watches from Van Cleef & Arpels.

The "Poetic Wish" watches are miniature works of art with a movement that took three years to develop.

The $1,090,000.* price tag also includes a trip to Geneva to visit the workshops and Paris to visit the boutique.

The dial scenes become animated on demand with a love story brought to life both visually and audibly.

The lady's watch has a silhouette which shows the hour by moving across the deck of the Eiffel Tower with a kite that shows the minutes as it goes skyward.

The chime of the Notre Dame bells chime for the hours and each five minutes.

The man's dial has a young man on the Notre Dame terrace moves across it to indicate the hour and has a diamond star shooting up into the sky to indicate the minutes.

* $10,000 will be donated to The Norman Mailer Center for each His & Hers 2012 gift.

Retro Woody Trailer

All the collectors I know love vintage and retro stuff -- does it get anymore retro looking than this great trailer? Now back in the day a trailer like this certainly wasn't used as a bar, but let's just call it a great example of a retro project.

The Bulleit Frontier Whiskey Woody-Tailgate trailer is designed by Brad Ford. It's hard crafted from reclaimed Bulleit Bourbon casks. Inside it has a flat screen TV, Blu-Ray Disc Player, sound system and a one-year supply of Bulleit Bourbon and Rye.

You will make quite the statement at the next tailgate party.

Price: $150,000*. limited to edition of two.

10% percent of the proceeds will benefit amfARâ„¢, The Foundation for AIDS Research.

Peacock from Jay Strongwater

It's always amazing when an artist can actually capture the real-life colors of the peacock. And nobody does jewels and brilliant colors better than Jay Strongwater.

During the holidays I often see numerous decorating schemes that will bring and combine these vibrant shades with traditional decorating. This gorgeous peacock figure is obviously not just for the holidays decorating, but I can just imagine it next to a tree that is filled with peacock feathers.

This is hand enameled and hand set with Swarovski® crystals and glass bead cabochons and is fairly large at 15" tall and 23" wide.

Priced at $5800.

MacKenzie-Childs Christmas Tree Cookie Jar

The black and white signature look of MacKenzie-Childs is represented by this non-traditional Christmas tree cookie jar. Although perhaps it is a traditional tree, at least in the MacKenzie-Childs style?

The large cookie jar (there is a smaller candy jar also available). The terra cotta jar is embellished with a gold lustre and handcrafted in the USA.
  • Size: 14" high
  • Price: $345.

Next on my list of goodies from the Christmas Book would be this set from Michael Storrings. I believe this is his first appearance in the Christmas Book, a well-deserved honor.

Last year Storrings did authored and illustrated a 12 Days of New York City book and an ornament that was available at Bergdorf-Goodmans, a store also in the Neiman Marcus family.

This year Storrings goes across America in his quest for the 12 Days of Christmas.

Next >>> A yummy $25. gift

Take my word for it. These are the best cookies you've ever buy in a tin. Ever.

Buttery, chocolatey and chewy -- these melt in your mouth. It's been three or four years since I've had them and I can still remember how they taste.

These cookies are packed in the annual and collectible Neiman Marcus tin (design taken from the Christmas Book cover art) and sell for $25.

Great gift for others and an ever better gift for yourself.

These cookies are the stuff that legends are made from, urban legends. Every few years another email campaign will be circulated as to how a customer was charged $250. for asking for this recipe. The myth can be found on the Neiman Marcus website and is not true, but does make a good story. The store freely gives out their recipe online.
