Ford Aerostar Engine Specs
- The Ford Aerostar started off with a 3-liter inline six-cylinder engine. It produces 145 horsepower and 165 pound-feet of torque.
- With more trims introduced for the 1990 model year, Ford offered a 4-liter V-6 alongside the 3-liter six-cylinder. It produces more horsepower and torque: 155 and 220 lb.-ft., respectively. By this time, the torque of the 3-liter engine had increased to 180 lb.-ft.
- Ford reduced the horsepower of the 3-liter from 145 to 135 for the 1993 model year onward; torque was also reduced back to the 165 lb.-ft. the engine had started off with. Then in 1996 both horsepower and torque were increased to 140 and 160, respectively; and the 4-liter engine was downgraded to 152 horsepower and 192 lb.-ft. in 1997--the Aerostar's final model year.
