Flea bombs and flea shampoos are two such products.
When you think of the idea of a flea bomb you may wonder, do flea bombs work? If the flea bomb does not work to get rid of fleas it is probably for one of two reasons.
One, there were not enough bombs used to fully cover the area in questions.
Or two, the fleas have worked up a resistance to the particular chemicals in the bomb.
Otherwise, flea bombs can be quite effective.
They are also handy because they can disperse the chemicals into a wide area, covering not only floors but furniture and drapery as well.
If you decide to use a flea bomb, once you activate the bomb, leave the area immediately.
Make sure your pets and children are out of the house for several hours while the bomb does its work.
Do note that some of the chemicals in the bombs have been proven dangerous for cats.
If the cat gets the chemicals on their feel by walking on the treated areas, they could ingest the chemical and become sick.
Another option is flea shampoo.
You can buy various shampoos to rid of fleas at your local pet supply store.
There are many different brands.
The key to using the shampoos is to make sure it gets deep enough into your carpet to fully rid of all fleas.
It is best to vacuum your carpets before applying the shampoo.
This may rid of some of the fleas and those that are left behind will come out of their hiding because of the vibrations.
Then you can apply the shampoo with a rake in order to get deep into the carpet fibers.
