Once you have a respectful list of followers on Twitter, the way you interact with them is very important and critical.
This mostly consists of reading their tweets, replying when you have something to add, sending direct messages (DM), and many other interactions.
However there are certain choices that Twitter offers in addition such as, displaying a person's updates, nudging them, and blocking a user.
Checking Out A Person's Updates If you follow a rather large mass of people then an interesting tweet from an equally interesting user may fall off the first page of your timeline before you know it.
Rather than flipping through endless pages searching for that special tweet, it's easier to display that person's updates and search from there.
There are several different ways to search for a person's timeline depending where you are on the Twittersphere: •Type in the Twitter homepage on your browser followed by that person's username.
Example twitter(dot)comWilliamCoquerel •If your person's name is on the screen on the list of followers then simply click on the username.
•If you notice that update from a friend's timeline then access his or her page from there.
Nudging a tweeter If someone that you find very useful and interesting does not post for a while of Twitter, you may sue a nudge to get them tweeting again.
A "nudge" is a text message sent to your phone to remind you to post an update on Twitter.
The text looks like this "You've been nudged!...
wants to know what you're doing.
Reply to this message to update your Twitter friends.
You can only nudge someone if the following conditions are maintained •You both follow each other.
•The user has a cell phone registered with Twitter •The user's mobile is on •The user has allowed Twitter to send text messages to his or her cell phone.
If all of the above conditions are met then the person is eligible for a nudge.
There are three ways that Twitter gives for you to nudge.
•If you're viewing the list of people you follow.
Click the nudge link next to each user.
•On your homepage type in status box "nudge @username" where username is the Twitter screen name of friend you want to nudge •If you are on the profile page of friend, click the Nudge link found in the Actions section of sidebar.
Blocking a User If someone is harassing you or is just being plain rude then you have the option of blocking that user.
To remove this Twitter user from your list of followers you can do one of two things •If the person is currently following you, find him in your list of followers, and click the Block link.
•If the person isn't following you, go to his or her profile page and click the Block link in the Actions section of the sidebar.
