Space saving can be very important to quality of life in your home. If you have a limited amount of rooms or they are small, share a house or are simply downsizing, then there are a few basic choices you can make to help you save space. Here are some spaces saving tips that will help you get more out of what you have and make every small room appear larger.

If you live alone, one thing to consider in bedrooms or studio apartments is to look into a smaller bed. While we all might like to have the largest bed on the market, when space is at a premium look into your options to save substantial space in width and length just by changing your bed size. By considering a twin bed if this is comfortable for you, or even choosing double or full size over queen will give you a few extra inches of space that might mean you can fit in an extra piece of storage furniture. You can also consider beds that fold back into a wall unit - these generally can provide closet space on either side, underneath or above the bed itself, and you can stow it away for added floor space whenever required.

There are tons of space saving storage options around. Under bed storage is one common option and is perfect for things like linen and towels when you don't have a linen closet. It is also a great way to store off-season clothing that you are not likely to need for months. Another alternative is using boxes; however these can stack up to something substantial if you have a lot of things to put in them.

Using vacuum seal bags is also a great way to store soft items you are less likely to need regularly. By packing them full and then vacuuming through the one-way vent installed, you will shrink the overall dimensions and this can let you get up to three times as much storage out of the one space.

Look at the size of your furniture. While you may enjoy your oversized recliner, perhaps you can get by with one instead of two, and use a nice chair or bring in a dining chair when you need the extra seat. For dining, the best space saving alternative when you do want access to a dining table, is an extending option that can fold away to a small 2-4 seater and be extended out only when required. If you do not have the space for this extension, consider how often you will use a dining table at all. If the answer is not very often, perhaps it is one piece of furniture that can be removed entirely. Use the space of home office or extra storage instead.

When you have limited room at home, spaces saving products are very important. You can find a space-saver option for every room and in any budget. With a bit of creativity, thought and measuring by you, the perfect piece or pieces will be just around the corner, waiting to move in.
