Nickent Golf is hoping to turn its female customers into goddesses. Or at least turn them onto the Goddess Collection, a new set of women's clubs from Nickent.

The Nickent Goddess Collection - "liberating thousands of female golfers from the confinement of traditional ladies golf clubs," in the company's words - equips the female competitor with a 14-degree titanium driver; a 19-degree steel head 3-wood; 4-, 5- and 6- iron-woods; and cavity back irons filling the 7 through sand wedge roles.


All clubs are outfitted with a flexible UST Double LL graphite shaft.

Back in the day, a set of "women's clubs" might just have been men's clubs that had been cut down a couple inches and repainted in softer colors. But those days are long gone.

"We at Nickent feel that the time has come for women golfers to benefit from the same technological advancements that the men's game has enjoyed," said Nickent CEO Michael Lee. "One of the greatest advantages men have had has been complete confidence in their equipment. Women, however, have been relegated to using clubs that were frankly second-rate in many cases, or, perhaps worse, men's clubs that were ill-fitted to their golf game. That will not be the case at Nickent. These clubs are easy to hit and they will give all women an advantage on the golf course."

The influx of equipment that is not only aimed at women golfers but also designed for them is spurred, in part, but the belief of many that attracting more women to the game represents the next great leap forward in the number of golfers worldwide.

"We believe that the most untapped source for growing the game is women," said Lee. "Our studies have shown that women are sophisticated buyers. If they're going to purchase a set of golf clubs ... there better be quality."

The 10-piece Goddess Collection caries an MSRP of $799. It is currently available in right-handed only, but a left-handed sets will be available in October, 2004.
