How to Make Your Own Corner Shelves for a Dorm Bathroom
- 1). Draw a line across the bottom third of one side of the plywood circle, using your straight edge to make sure the line is straight and even.
- 2). Pinpoint the middle of the line you just drew. Draw another line from the top down to the bottom of the plywood that bisects the first line you drew at the middle point you just identified. Again, use a straight edge to keep the line straight as possible.
- 3). Measure the line you just drew down the board, going from top to bottom. Divide that measurement by two to find the exact center of the line.
- 4). Draw a line through the middle point, going from left to right. This line will be perpendicular to the line you drew in Step 3. Your plywood will now be in four identical quarters.
- 5). Cut the board using a table saw along one line to make two halves. Then cut the two halves along the lines on them, and you will now have four shelves with rounded corners.
- 6). Paint and decorate the shelves if you wish. Many people will paint the shelves to match the wall where they will be hanging, so that the shelves blend in.
- 7). Mount the shelves onto the wall using brackets. Each shelf will require two brackets. Brackets can be any shape or design that you choose. Use a power drill to screw the brackets into the wall where you would like to place your shelves. Place the shelf on the brackets that you screw into the wall and check to make sure the shelves are level.
