If you have lost weight and don't want to see those additional pounds again you'd be wise to watch what you're eating. If you need to lose weight, it is wise NOT to try the crash diets because they could cause permanent health conditions in the long run. What you can do is eat. Yes, eat wisely and complement your diet with beneficial supplements.

There are a lot of healthy alternatives amid the tons of temptations that surround you each and every day. You always have a choice. When faced with options, choose those that can help the body stay healthy and fit. Here are some suggestions:

• Instead of fried chicken or those tasty buffalo wings, choose to eat the grilled and skinless chicken parts. This way, one frees themselves from 385 additional calories.
• Say no to French fries and say yes to a baked potato or a scoop of mashed potatoes and save 200 calories.
• Opt for marinara sauce instead of the macaroni and cheese for a pasta dish. The waist line will be happy to save 280 calories.
• Pick up the whole wheat bread instead of the bagels and muffins unless they are of the plain variety. Two slices of toasted wheat bread will save the body from 350 calories.
• Stay away from the sweets like cake, pies, or cookies. Instead, munch on fresh fruit. If you can't help it, take half a slice of your favorite cake and save 130 calories.
• Instead of the usual midnight snack regulars like pizza, ice cream, candies, or chips-go for granola bars, rice cakes, bananas, flavored yogurts, carrots, skim milk and lots of water.
• If you are cooking, use canola oil instead of the regular cooking oil.
• Salads with fat-free balsamic vinegar as dressing are your best bets. Do not ever lay your tongue on excessive salad dressings. Do not use bottled dressing. Use lemon juice with olive oil.
• Use fresh or dried herbs and spices on your dishes. Your food will taste and smell good less of the calories.
• Roast vegetables instead of steaming them.
• Dry fry or stir-fry your good using cooking spray instead of deep-frying or using butter.

These are healthy alternatives that are easy to get use to.

Remember too, that it is not all about diet though. One needs to have an active lifestyle and a lot of sleep to stay healthy.
