ABC Returning Favorite - "Grey"s Anatomy
Season 7 Premiere Date: September 23, 2010
Where We Left Off: In what will undoubtedly go down as one of the best and most intense episodes in the history of the series, a gunman (named Gary Clark) with a major grudge against Derek, took control of Seattle Grace-Mercy West and killed Reed and Charles, shot Alex and Owen and terrorized every doctor, nurse and patient he came into contact with. Derek was shot by the gunman and almost died.
During Derek's surgery, the gunman tracks him down and puts a gun to Cristina's head and orders her to stop operating. Avery makes it appear as though Derek has flatlined, and Clark leaves the OR, which allowed the surgeons to save Derek's life. Meredith discovered she was pregnant, but lost the baby during the ordeal.
What's Ahead: Several months have passed since the horrifying events of the season finale and the doctors are still recovering both physically and emotionally. Alex uses his bullet wound as a way to pick up women. Derek quits his job as chief of staff and gets in trouble with the law. A therapist (played by James Tupper) comes to Seattle Grace-Mercy West to assess the doctors emotional condition before clearing them to return to work. Owen and Cristina's relationship goes to the next level -- in fact the two will get married in the premiere!

Saul has adjusted to life with HIV and even finds himself a new romantic interest who looks strangely like 7th Heaven's Stephen Collins. Justin returns from Haiti and finds his marriage in shambles. Considering the fact that Emily VanCamp is departing the series in episode 4, I'll go out on a limb and say that divorce is a very real possibility.
