While cutting the grass is a chore that you just want to get done, the resulting manicured lawn will make your view and use of the yard more enjoyable. Yard-Man mowers are designed as reliable and affordable solutions for lawn maintenance. As a brand of the MTD Company--producers of commercial and residential outdoor power equipment--Yard-Man mower parts are available for purchase online to keep your mower working at its top performance.

    Engine Parts

    • The engine of a 19-inch Yard-Man mower is located on the top of the deck. Parts that may need replacing include the recoil starter assembly and the start pulley--the unit that houses the pull string, the fuel filter, fuel hose, air filter, spark plug, carburetor assembly and muffler assembly. Other parts may become worn over time and need replacing, such as hoses and the valve and air filter covers.

    Deck Assembly

    • As the main body piece of the Lawn-Man mower, everything is connected to the deck. When the front and rear wheels wear down, replace them. Replace the front cover, which resembles a bumper, when it becomes damaged.

    Blade

    • The lawn mower cuts the grass when the engine spins the mulching blade. The blade connects to the blade adapter and into the engine assembly from the underside of the deck assembly. The blade will become dull and warped after many uses. When sharpening it is not sufficient enough to give your lawn a clean cut, give your Yard-Man mower a new blade.

    Handle Assembly

    • The handle takes its share of beatings from mowing the lawn since it is the part of the mower that is used to push and direct the mower over the cutting field. Some handle parts include the upper handle (which screws into the lower handle), the rope guide, the drive control that propels the mower forward and the blade control that can stop the blade once it is started.

    Screws, Bolts, Washers and Nuts

    • The parts of a Yard-Man mower are secured in place with screws, bolts, washers and nuts. After several seasons of use, some of the exposed screws may become damaged from the wear and tear of usage and weathering. Follow the diagram of your Yard-Man mower to locate the genuine replacements for the damaged screws, bolts, washers and nuts.

    Other Parts

    • Other parts of a Yard-Man mower include the rear door, the grass bag that collects the grass clippings, the side discharge chute that spreads the grass clippings back over the lawn, several springs, the transmission and the V-belt.
