How to search for Legitimate Online Jobs.

Whenever you are looking at a website that claims to provide legitimate online jobs, be sure that you understand exactly what you are reading. If the site sells a product related to online jobs, that does not mean it is a scam.

There is a very successful professional Online Job Directory on the internet that list many high profile companies that hire people to work from home. The Telecommute Industry has grown by leaps and bounds over the last 2 years, mainly because of the poor economy in the U.S. The companies can cut down on many business expenses just as the telecommute workers are doing.

The main thing you want to look for is a physical name and address of the company. Compare that the address is valid on white or yellow pages websites. Then you will want to look for a phone number and an email address for support and questions. Go ahead and email the company and ask a question. You will want to see how long it takes for a response, and how professional the response is. Those 2 things are the main decision makers, along with the professional wording on the website itself.

Read about the company on the "About Us' page. Verify as much information as you can. It is important that you feel comfortable with the person and the business that you choose to do business with. If a website gives no insight as to who the owner is or information about their business, then that may be a good indicator that it may be a scam. Any prominent website will display information about the company and the owners of the company.

You may also check to see if the company is licensed to do business in the city and state that their physical address shows. You might find this in the small business directory online for your state. Checking a BBB or Better Business Bureau account is not necessary a good indicator, as I believe that it is just a company that charges you a fee to display their seal on your site. Many small business start ups can not afford this high fee unless they got a business loan to start their company. The fee can be as high as $500, when all it is is an agency that accepts complaints, and not good reviews. A company may have 1000 good reviews and 11 negative complaint, so in that aspect it is not a really true indicator of anything.

Some other places you may want to check is the Chamber of Commerce, who has higher Business Standards and Ethics than the BBB. Also make sure the company has a secure website that payments are being accepted on, such as https in your browser when you are on Paypal transaction page.
